La co-construction d’un suivi participatif des rivières.

This study explores the collaborative co-construction of a project for the participatory monitoring of the water levels of Quebec rivers. Despite widespread agreement on the general objective of the project – a better understanding and prediction of flood risks, our analysis highlights the diversity of expectations and issues of those involved, including volunteers. We discuss certain tensions that arose during the co-construction process, particularly around types of measurement and their implementation. The various actors’ perspectives emerge as situated in their experience, and their positions were reaffirmed or adjusted during discussions and negotiations around these questions. Since we were actively involved in the co-construction process, this article also provides reflections on our stance as engaged researchers.
