Le Numérique en questions (Digital issues and questions)

Le Numérique en questions is a public scientific communication project supported by Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) that aims to inform on and demystify the Internet, the Web, and social media. Le Numérique en questions is intended for people who have little experience using the Internet or who use it and have questions such as: What is a keyword and how to use it? Where is the Internet or the cloud located, or What is cyberbullying? How to shop safely, and how to protect against false information? Key digital terms and issues are grounded in everyday reality. Compelling visuals on social networks provide simple, image-based explanations, and short blog posts provide further insights.

Le Numérique en questions is produced by the Research Chair on the Uses of Digital Technologies and Changes in Communication (2015–2020), collaborating with UQAM’s Communications Service. Funding provided by the Department of Social and Public Communication and the Faculty of Communication of UQAM.

Florence Millerand and Mélanie Millette head the project (Chair funding 2018–2020; DCSP Research Support Programme 2019–2020, 2020–2021; PAFARC 2020–2021, 2021–2022) with the participation of Marie-Soleil Fortier and Rémi Toupin as research assistants (coordination and writing).
