This research project centres on “Science 2.0” considered as a set of discourses and practices and understood within the frame of scientific and social networking sites. It questions the foundations of imaginary “Science 2.0” worlds, traces their intellectual origins and analyzes how they relate to the use of digital platforms dedicated to scientific communication (ex: Academia, ResearchGate, MyScienceWork). The research proposes to identify the “visions of science” as well as the collective and scientific practices at the heart of these imaginaries while thinking these platforms through the discursive constructions they articulate. The project is headed by Florence Millerand, Professor in the Department of Social and Public Communication at the UQAM (PAFARC grant, 2015).
